Second Show A Success!

Well, we have just come off our "2 Shows in 2 Months" tour, and we are ready to add more to our set! Although the sound company blew the entire show off, Glass Prison and Your Move ( Boston based prog tribute band) jerry-rigged a sound system that allowed us to be successful in putting on a show for our loyal fans. The crew at the YMCA Theater in Cambridge did a great job accenting both our performances with a cool light show.

This was a better performance as a band for us because we were more settled on our "standard tunes", and confident in performing the new songs for the first time live. We opened with These Walls and closed the show out with the juggernaut Glass Prison. Because of holiday travel, and the "gentle" New England weather we were limited in our time to rehearse for the show, let alone the beast Glass Prison.

We received great feedback from fans regarding our performance, and we hope to continue bringing the Dream Theater "library" to New England.

From my seat, it is really great to be able to look across the stage at the great players I have the good fortune to perform with!!!

See ya at the next show(s)!!!

1st Gig under our belts

Well, I must say that after 20 years of playing out in clubs, I was particularly nervous about the first outing of GlassPrison. Would the 7/8-3/4-6/8 section go smoothly?...will the solos turn out alright? Will there be a deer in the headlights moment?!

With the music being so technically difficult, it was hard to say how successful the night would have been. In defiance of Murphy's Law, the night was a total success musically and the crowd of DT fans completely appreciated the effort. You can catch the official videos of the performance on Youtube at the following addresses:

Wait for Sleep
Overture 1928
Learning to Live Pt 1 and Pt 2
Stream Of Consciousness Pt 1 and Pt 2

Let me introduce our new vocalist

Chris Guyett hails from the great state of New Hampshire but don't let that cloud your impression of him, he knows DT forwards and backwards. In fact, in his own words: "I've been practicing for this part for the last 15 years". As testimate to that fact: Chris came in...laid down what had to be laid down...and was hired!

We'd like to welcome Chris into the fold.

Welcome Dan Muller on Bass

Dan comes from a long line of oyster shuckers from Hopkinton and decided to take up the Bass instead of a pealing knife. We are glad he did as he is definitely capable of playing the role of John Myung.

For those interested, Dan is single, a sagittarius, enjoys romantic walks on the beach, reading books, playing chutes&ladders on Sundays...and is "like totally" into DEATH METAL!

Of special note was his ability to not miss a beat at an audition that was missing a drummer. Just imagine trying to play a DT tune without a drummer. That's a feat in itself. Way to go Dan!

Vocalist added to the lineup

We are excited to announce that Deirdre Vanchugova has joined Glass Prison as their vocalist. Coming into the audition, we did not know what to expect....James LaBrie is a male tenor...she is a female alto. James has long hair...she has short. What we didn't know that they shared in common was that they can both dominate on the vocals. She blew everyone away in the audition with her command of the songs and also with her general awareness of complex meter.

On a related note, Erik had to make the hard decision to leave Glass Prison so that he could dedicate himself 100% to the "Dan Lawson Band" which he has been a member of for a couple years. "I want to be in both projects...but the recent success of the Dan Lawson Band with all the festivals, national touring, and publicity engagements doesn't leave much room for a second project" -Erik.

We wish him all the best and have begun the search for a replacement.
